Nepal's Constituent Assembly reschedules next session for May 8

Nepal's Constituent Assembly Chairman Subhas Chandra Nembang has rescheduled the next session of Constituent Assembly session for May 8.
In a notice issued to Nepali lawmakers on Thursday morning, the Constituent Assembly Secretariat informed Nepali lawmakers the next session of the CA was rescheduled for May 8.
This will be the first session of the Constituent Assembly of the earthquake-ravaged country.
The summer session of the 601-member constituent-making body originally slated for Thursday was postponed due to the devastating earthquake in the Himalayan nation which left more than 5,400 dead and another 11,000 injured.
"Dozens of denizens were killed and over 500 were injured in my election constituency. I am taking care of injured people who are undergoing treatment at some local hospitals," Nepali Congress lawmaker from Kathmandu constituency number 6, Bhimsen Das Pradhan, told Xinhua.
Hundreds of lawmakers of ruling Nepali Congress and Communist Party of Nepal (United Marxist Leninist) and the main opposition party the United Community Party of Nepal (Maoist) have been getting involved in rescue operation since Saturday in their respective election constituencies of 38 districts, which are badly hit by the earthquakes.
