Former Shanghai official under judicial investigation for bribery

Shanghai prosecutors opened an investigation into Jiang Xiefu, former district Party chief and city lawmaker, for allegedly taking bribes, said the Supreme People's Procuratorate (SPP) Wednesday.

Jiang was party chief of Baoshan District of Shanghai and a member of the standing committee of the Shanghai municipal people's congress, the city legislature.

He has been placed under compulsory measures, according to the SPP, though it did not specify which measures had been taken.

Such measures generally include summons by force, bail residential surveillance, detention and arrest. Endi
