Deputy mayor of Kunming sacked

Xinhua, April 29, 2015 Adjust font size:

Xie Xinsong, deputy mayor of Kunming, capital of southwest China's Yunnan Province, was removed from his post over suspected serious violations of discipline and law, according to the municipal legislature on Wednesday.

The Kunming Municipal People's Congress also canceled the membership of Gao Jinsong, who is the former Kunming Party chief. Gao was removed from his post earlier in April amid a graft investigation.

Gao assumed the position in August, after then-Kunming Party chief Zhang Tianxin was sacked for "serious violations of Party discipline." Endi
