Corinthians seek Paulinho deal

Xinhua, April 29, 2015 Adjust font size:

Corinthians are preparing a move to sign Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Paulinho during the summer transfer window, according to media reports on Tuesday.

Paulinho has struggled for first-team football since his 17 million-pound transfer to White Hart Lane from Corinthians in July 2013.

The Brazilian club's sporting director Edu Gaspar said financial issues would not impede an agreement for the 26-year-old.

"He is still very popular around here," Gaspar was quoted saying by Brazilian news portal Uol.

"There are always obstacles but I don't think money will get in the way of a possible deal."

Paulinho was a key member of the Corinthians team that won the Copa Libertadores-FIFA Club World Cup double in 2012.

He has been capped 32 times for Brazil but has not represented the Selecao since last year's World Cup. Endi
