French stock market index down 1.81 pct on Tuesday

The French stock market benchmark index CAC 40 closed with a decrease of 1.81 percent at 5,173.38 points on Tuesday, down 95.52 points.

Disappointed by the week consumption indicators published Tuesday in the United States, the CAC 40 closed lower on Tuesday with 36 of the 40 selected companies experiencing decrease.

Tuesday's top three gainers were ArcelorMittal, up 1.26 percent, Total, up 1.04 percent, and Kering, up 1.01 percent.

The three companies whose stocks dropped most on Tuesday were Orange, down 4.67 percent, Airbus Group, down 4.33 percent, and Valeo, down 3.78 percent.

In the previous trading day, the CAC 40 closed with an advance of 1.30 percent at 5,268.91 points, up 67.46 points. Endit
