-- The controversial Greece Finance Minister Yanis Varoufakis has been sidelined from handling talks with international lenders. Deputy Foreign Minister Euclid Tsakalotos will act as coordinator in future, as government officials said in Athens on Monday.

-- The European Union will extend the sanctions against Russia in June, according to German Chancellor Angela Merkel. Merkel said at the Polish-German intergovernmental consultations that the EU has tied the lifting of sanctions to the Minsk agreement for the eastern Ukraine.

-- The CEO of Deutsche Bank announced massive austerity measures on Monday. About 3.5 billion euros should be saved in this year. By the end of 2017, 200 of a total of 750 branches of Deutsche Bank will be closed. Endit
