No selfie-sticks in Wimbledon Grand Slam

Xinhua, April 28, 2015 Adjust font size:

Wimbledon tennis championship organizers will ban selfie-sticks from this year's tournament.

Fans won't be allowed to take the sticks into their headquarters during the Grand Slam tournament, the All England Lawn Tennis Club said. Selfie sticks help users take self-portrait photos.

"In common with many other major sports and entertainment events and cultural attractions, the championships will not allow selfie sticks into the grounds," the club said in its guide for ticketholders.

The devices can extend the reach of a user trying to take a photo with a smartphone or camera and have been banned from a number of venues because they obstruct the view of other spectators. Endi
