Export revenue of Vietnam's farm produce down in first 4 months

Export revenue of Vietnam's farm produce is expected to hit 9.13 billion U.S. dollars in the first four months of 2015, down 6 percent year-on-year, according to Vietnam's Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD) on Monday.
Among the figure, Vietnam is to see plunge in export revenue of major agricultural products including rice (down 9.2 percent year- on-year) and coffee (down 39.3 percent year-on-year).
Meanwhile, the country is forecast to earn 1.87 billion U.S. dollars from exports of seafood, down 16.6 percent year-on-year.
The United States is the market that Vietnamese seafood export turnover witnesses the sharpest decrease during the period with a drop of nearly 34 percent year-on-year, Vietnam's state-run radio VOV quoted MARD as saying on Monday.
During January-April period, exports of major forestry items are likely to bring Vietnam 2.18 billion U.S. dollars, up 6.7 percent year-on-year.
In 2015, Vietnam plans to export 31 billion U.S. dollars' worth of agro-forestry-fishery produce. Endi
