United States Army official to visit New Zealand

Xinhua, April 26, 2015 Adjust font size:

United States Secretary of Army John McHugh will visit New Zealand this week to discuss military engagement between the two nations.

New Zealand Secretary of Defense Helene Quilter, who will host McHugh, said the visit provided a good opportunity to discuss upcoming defense exercises and other engagement activities.

"Secretary McHugh's visit is in keeping with the close bilateral relationship between New Zealand and the United States, which is in excellent shape," Quilter said in a statement.

The visit on April 27 and 28 would be McHugh's first to New Zealand as Secretary of Army.

The U.S. Secretary of Air Force visited New Zealand in January this year and the U.S. Secretary of Navy visited early last year, she said. Endi
