Xinhua, April 25, 2015 Adjust font size:

An explosion on Saturday morning rocked a military facility in Nigeria's central Plateau State, with high number of casualties feared, witnesses told Xinhua.

The explosion hit the barracks of Nigeria Army's 3rd Armored Division in Bassa local district of the state, Salim Ahmed, a witness said.

A security source, who pleaded for anonymity, said the explosion, which occurred at exactly 9:45 a.m. local time, might have claimed more military casualties.

Officials were yet to issue a statement on the incident or give casualties figure as of the time of filing this report.

Last February, an explosion at a bus station in Plateau State killed at least 13 people and injure 14 others. Endi
