2nd LD Writethru: Massive tremors felt across India as strong quakes hits Nepal

Panic ruled in numerous Indian cities as massive tremors were felt on Saturday in Delhi, Lucknow, Kolkata and other parts of northern and eastern Indian cities following a strong quake in neighboring Nepal.

Tremors were also felt in Ranchi, Jaipur, Guwahati and parts of Uttar Pradesh in northern and eastern India, said officials.

While there are no reports of any casualty as of now, heavy property losses were reported in some cities.

A 7.7 magnitude earthquake hit 80 km east of Pokhara, Nepal on Saturday.

The strong earthquake shook buildings in the capital, Xinhua reporters in Nepal said.

Casualties are feared.

The quake was also felt in Malaysia and Bangladesh. Enditem
