Nuclear talks make some progress: Iranian negotiator

The nuclear negotiations between Iran and six major states made some progress though the pace was slow, Iranian negotiator said on Friday.
"The progress is good," Iranian negotiator Abbas Araqchi told Iranian media. "We are at preliminary stages and the pace is slow but it is good."
Iran and five United Nations Security Council permanent members plus Germany (P5+1) are trying to reach a final agreement by the end-of-June deadline.
Under the framework document reached on April 2, Tehran agreed to scale back its nuclear capacity and would allow more intrusive verification by the UN nuclear agency when the final deal is agreed upon.
The timing of sanction relief is considered to be a key issue in the final talks. Iran wants Western states to relieve sanctions as soon as the deal is agreed upon, while Western states want a gradual relief.
Western states have long been suspicious of Iran's atomic plan, believing Tehran might develop nuclear weapons under the civilian program. Enditem
