Enrique looking forward to facing his "friend" Guardiola in Champions League

Xinhua, April 24, 2015 Adjust font size:

FC Barcelona coach Luis Enrique on Friday welcomed the draw for the semifinals of the Champions League which saw his side face Bayern Munich.

The tie is especially interesting as it sees former Barca coach Pep Guardiola return to the club where he enjoyed four glorious seasons in charge and it is inevitable that Luis Enrique will be compared to the man he played alongside and who was first team coach while he coached the Barca B-team

"You never know if it best to face Bayern over one, two or four games. There can be a lot of surprises, but I know people are excited because it is Pep against Barcelona and it will be special for everyone," said Luis Enrique, who said he had "wasted three minutes watching the draw..."

"It is going to be special because Pep is coming back to the Camp Nou to face his former players. It will be a magnificent event, but we are clear about what we have to want to do," he continued.

Luis Enrique said Guardiola was the "best coach...because of the titles, because I like the way he does things and because he has been able to adapt to another country and another language and because he is my friend and my friends are the best."

Meanwhile Guardiola reacted to the news by saying, "it is special, because Barcelona is my home."

He said that Barca had a chance of winning a treble this season and warned that if his side played as they did in the first leg of the quarterfinal against Porto, which they lost 3-1, they "would lose." Endi
