China offers 500,000 USD cash aid to Micronesia

China has offered 500,000 U.S. dollars in cash as emergency humanitarian aid to Micronesia, said the Chinese Foreign Ministry on Thursday.

The aid is provided at the request of Micronesia, and will support the reconstruction work, said a statement from the Foreign Ministry.

Super typhoon Maysak swept through Micronesia's Chuuk and Yap states last week, killing at least nine people and causing extensive damage.

Both Chuuk and Yap are under a state of emergency. Endit
