Zambia to face Malawi in soccer friendly

Xinhua, April 23, 2015 Adjust font size:

Zambia will face Malawi in an international soccer friendly next month, the country's soccer governing body said on Thursday.

The Chipolopolo (The Bullets) will face the Flames of Malawi on May 10 at Nkoloma Stadium in Lusaka, according to a statement posted on the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) website

Nkweto Tembwe, the soccer governing body's spokesperson said in the statement that the match will be used as part of preparation for the 2015 regional soccer tournament, the Council of Southern Africa Football Associations (COSAFA) Senior Challenge Cup scheduled for May 17 to 31 in South Africa.

However, he said the game will only feature local players because the game will not be played on a FIFA-sanctioned date. Endi
