Xinhua, April 23, 2015 Adjust font size:

A mayor in central China's Hunan Province has been put under investigation following accusations he has used drugs, the provincial discipline watchdog said on Thursday.

Gong Weiguo, mayor of Linxiang City, is being probed for "alleged violation of Party discipline", according to a statement released by the watchdog.

On Tuesday, the local government told Xinhua that Guo was being investigated by police over suspected drug use. He has been removed from his post as deputy Party chief of Linxiang.

Guo, 43, was appointed as deputy Party chief and mayor of the county-level city in December 2011. Endi
