1st LD Writethru: 1 killed, 11 injured in building collapse in Indian capital

Xinhua, April 22, 2015 Adjust font size:

At least one person was killed and 11 others were injured in a building collapse in the Indian capital Wednesday, a senior police officer said.

"The mishap happened following a cooking gas cylinder explosion in the three-storied residential building in Moti Nagar this morning. While the body of a 20-year-old man has been pulled out of the debris, those injured were admitted to a local hospital," he said, on condition of anonymity.

A probe has been ordered into the incident, the officer said.

Building collapses are common in India, mostly because of poor quality of construction. Endi
