Palestine Prime Minister Rami Hamdallah on Tuesday called on Asian and African countries to give Palestine material support, which is very important for the independence of Palestine as a state.
"We don't only talk about moral support, we need concrete actions," the prime minister said at a press conference after meeting with Indonesian President Joki Widodo on the sidelines of the Asian-African Business Summit.
The summit is held ahead of the commemoration of the 60th anniversary of the Asian-African Conference, also known as Bandung Conference, in Indonesia later this week.
Palestine needs all Asian and African countries to open embassies and consulates in Palestine, he added.
He called on all countries to recognize Palestine affairs, saying "This is a step forward and we believe all countries should follow so."
"Without the establishment of Palestine as a state, peace cannot be realized in the region," he said, adding that his government is trying its utmost to reach an settlement with Hamas in Gaza, which is a national goal for all Palestinians.
He also condemned Israel's continuing aggression and violence against the Palestinian people.
Palestine declared its independence in November 1988, claiming Gaza Strip and West Bank as its territory.
Leaders and delegates from 110 countries have confirmed their attendance at this year's meetings of the Asian-African Conference.
Palestine issue will be on the agenda of the Asian-African Summit 2015 and the commemoration, which will run on April 22-24. Endi
