French stock market index up 0.86 pct on Monday

The French stock market benchmark index CAC 40 closed with an advance of 0.86 percent at 5,187.59 points on Monday, up 44.33 points.

Thanks to the economic measures taken by China's central bank, the CAC 40 closed slightly higher on Monday with 35 of the 40 selected companies gaining advance.

Monday's top three gainers were Societe Generale, up 2.45 percent, Essilor Intl., up 1.83 percent, and BNP Paribas, up 1.74 percent.

The three companies that lost most on Monday were Alcatel-Lucent, down 1.11 percent, Alstom, down 0.67 percent, and Publicis Groupe, down 0.64 percent.

In the previous trading day, the CAC 40 closed with a decrease of 1.55 percent at 5,143.26 points, down 81.23 points. Endit
