Indonesia has expressed the hope to set up a permanent Asian-African forum to boost cooperation, local media reported Monday.
The move came ahead of the Asian-African summit 2015, which runs here from April 22 to April 23.
Jakarta's proposal was receiving a positive response during the Asian-African Senior Officials Meeting (SOM) on Sunday, The Jakarta Post reported. "That particular point was not rejected by SOM members, meaning it may be moved forward at the Asian-African Ministerial Meeting on Monday, " Armanatha Nasir, Indonesia's foreign ministry spokesman, was quoted as saying.
The foreign ministry said 33 heads of state and government as well as representatives from 77 countries have confirmed the attendance at the summit and the Commemoration of the 60th Asian- African Conference which was slated on April 24. Endi
