Tokyo shares end slightly lower by break

Tokyo shares ended the morning session Monday slightly lower on declines in U.S. and European stocks market last week.

The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average inched down 5.68 points, or 0.03 percent, from Friday at 19,647.20, after briefly hitting as low as 19,474.23, the lowest intraday level since April 6.

The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange was down 4.70 points, or 0.30 percent, at 1, 583.99. Endi
