A 6.8-magnitude quake hit around vicinity waters of China's Taiwan and Japan's Okinawa, with tsunami warnings issued around Miyako island in Okinawa, according to Japan's NHK.

The quake took place at 10:43 a.m. local time Monday in the area and strong tremor was felt in parts of the Japanese southernmost island, said local reports.

Local reports said that estimated 1-meter high tsunami would affect areas around Japan's Miyako islands. Endi
