Afghan President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani left for Iran's capital of Tehran on Sunday for a two-day visit, the Presidential Palace said.

President Ghani will meet with his Iranian counterpart Hassan Rouhani and other Iranian officials to exchange views on bilateral relations and situation in the region.

A number of agreements aimed at enhancing cooperation between the two neighbors will also be inked during Ghani's tour, the palace said in a statement.

This is the first visit of Ghani to Iran since he assumed presidency in September last year. Endi
