At least 14 people were injured in a gas pipeline explosion in central California, the United States, on Friday.

The explosion happened at around 2:30 p.m. local time (2130 GMT) in the Fresno County Sheriff's gun range, where a work crew including county jail inmates using heavy equipment hit a natural gas pipeline, local media quoted Tony Botti, a spokesman for the Fresno County Sheriff's Office, as saying.

The nearby Highway 99 as well as a rail line was halted due to the explosion.

A large fireball and big fire were seen after the explosion. The local gas company turned off the gas line soon and and fire crew quickly put out the flames. Endi
