Nilmar brace sinks Universidad de Chile

Former Brazil international striker Nilmar scored two first-half goals as Internacional defeated Universidad de Chile 4-0 in their Copa Libertadores group match on Thursday.

Eduardo Sasha also netted in the first half for the visitors before Valdivia added a fourth on the hour.

The result at the Estadio Nacional lifted the Brazilian outfit to top spot in Group 4, a point ahead of Bolivia's The Strongest with one match remaining in the competition's first phase.

In Thursday's only other match, defending champions San Lorenzo held Corinthians to a 0-0 draw in Sao Paulo.

Corinthians head Group 2, four points ahead of Sao Paulo with San Lorenzo two points further back. Endi
