Tokyo stocks dip 0.50 pct in morning on overseas markets decline

Tokyo stocks fell 0.50 percent Friday morning as investor sentiment was undermined by overnight declines in U.S. and European markets.

The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average was down 100.06 points, from Thursday to 19,785.71. The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange lost 1.18 points, or 0. 07 percent, to 1,598.24.

Major decliners included mining, retail and machinery issues. Endi
