Vietnam to attend World Economic Forum on East Asia 2015

Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc will lead a delegation to attend the World Economic Forum on East Asia 2015 held in Indonesian capital Jakarta on April 20-21, said a Vietnamese official on Thursday.

Le Hai Binh, spokesperson of Vietnam's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, made the announcement at a regular press briefing held in Hanoi on Thursday.

According to Binh, under the theme "Anchoring Trust in East Asia's New Regionalism," the meeting will focus on three pillars: New Regional Context, New Economic Context and New Citizen Context.

At the meeting, Phuc will hold discussions with world leaders on regional and international economic, political issues such as regional integration and connectivity, role and impacts of ASEAN Economic Community, regional and international economic development trends, which will help promote economic ties between Vietnam and other countries, Binh said.
