Australian unemployment falls to 6.1 pct in March

Australia's unemployment dropped to 6.1 percent in March, the Australian Bureau of Statistics said on Thursday.

The figure is lower than the 6.3 percent many economists had predicted and more than 37,700 more people were employed last month.

The statistics bureau said the number of full-time jobs rose by 31,500 in March, and part-time employment rose by 6,100.

The participation rate of those seeking work rose to 64.8 percent in March. Endi
