Australian stocks open 0.5 pct higher

The Australian stock market opened 0.5 percent higher on Thursday after a rally in U.S. oil prices.

At the official market open, the benchmark S&P/ASX200 index was up 33.9 points, or 0.57 percent, at 5,942.3 points, while the broader All Ordinaries index added 34.3 points, or 0.58 percent, to 5,911.6 points. Endi
