Austrian consumer spending mood increases despite restrained economic outlook

Xinhua, April 16, 2015 Adjust font size:

Austrians intend to spend more money as consumer confidence reaches its highest level in over two years for the first quarter of 2015, a new survey showed.

The results of the survey, conducted by market research company Gfk and presented here Wednesday, come however at a time when the economic outlook for Austria has worsened, particularly in contrast to other European countries, with Austrians on the whole tending toward a pessimistic view of the future.
