Indonesian military commander General Moeldoko said on Wednesday that 26,000 soldiers and policemen would be deployed to secure the commemoration of the 60th Asian African Conference (AAC) in Jakarta and Bandung city from April 19 to 24.

The general said that more than 9,700 of the personnel were policemen and the rest were soldiers. "Snipers from armed forces and police will also be deployed," he said at Monas park.

More than 30 heads of states, vice presidents and deputy prime ministers have confirmed their participation at the 60th anniversary of AAC in Indonesia from April 19 to 22, according to Indonesian Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi.

As many as 109 countries would send their representatives to the commemoration, according to him.
