Macao's forex reserves up 1.9 pct in March

Macao Special Administrative Region 's foreign exchange reserves in March increased by 1.9 percent compared to the revised value of 134.3 billion patacas (16.81 billion USD) in February, said Monetary Authority of Macao on Wednesday.

The reserves reached 136.9 billion patacas (17.14 billion USD) at the end of March 2015, according to the figures released on Wednesday by the authority.

Macao's foreign exchange reserves at the end of March 2015 represented 11 times the currency in circulation at the end of last month.

The trade-weighted effective exchange rate index for the pataca, a gauge of the domestic currency's exchange rates against the currencies of Macao's major trading partners increased 8.42 points year-on-year to 105.19 in March 2015. Endi
