Porsche supercar hits 350 kph on speed-limit free Australian road

Xinhua, April 15, 2015 Adjust font size:

Porsche showed off its new 918 Spyder hybrid supercar on an unrestricted speed outback road in Australia and released footage on Wednesday.

The car, driven by a professional race car driver, zoomed from 60 km per hour (kph) to 350 kph in just 40 seconds on the dead- straight Stuart Highway in the Northern Territory.

"Open Speed Zone Ahead Drive to Conditions," a sign states at the start of the zone.

The two-seater car, which has both petrol and electric power sources, features a 4.6-liter engine.

Only 918 of the 900,000-U.S. dollar Spyders have been made so far, and all have been sold. Endi
