Xinhua, April 13, 2015 Adjust font size:

Tokyo stocks open slightly higher in early trading on Monday, caught between upbeat sentiment on Wall Street gains before the weekend and profit-taking.

At 9:15 a.m., the 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average gained 8.06 points, or 0.04 percent, from Friday at 19,915.69. The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange shed 3.14 points, or 0.20 percent, at 1,586.40.

Major gainers included glass and ceramics, brokerage and precision instrument issues. Losers were led by utilities, land transport and shipping. Endi
