Xinhua, April 11, 2015 Adjust font size:

A big fire broke out in a tape factory early on Saturday morning in the southern German city of Immenstadt, causing damage worth millions of euros, local police spokesperson said.

Local police and fire brigade reported that the fire broke out with unknown cause and parts of a hall had already collapsed when they received the emergency call.

"Ten employees working night shift were unhurt and able to run outside," the police spokesman said.

About 150 firefighters are on the scene to put out flames and combat smoke since the fire outbreak. One of them suffered smoke inhalation in the firefighting operations, according to the report of Bavarian Radio.

Firefighting operations are expected to last till the evening. At the moment, there is still a cloud of smoke above the fire scene. As a result, residents are still asked to keep windows and doors closed. Endit
