Xinhua, April 11, 2015 Adjust font size:

Unknown armed men shot dead the chief financial official of Wardak province near the Governor House on Saturday, spokesman for provincial government Attaullah Khogiani said.

"Pir Mohammad Kuchi the financial chief of provincial administration was on way to his office when two unknown armed men riding a motorbike intercepted his car and opened fire, killing him on the spot," Khogiani told reporters here.

The deadly attack took place next to the Governor House at around 08:00 a.m. local time and the attackers managed to escape, Khogiani added.

He also blamed the enemies of peace, a reference to the Taliban militants for the attack. However, the outfit has yet to claim responsibility. Endi
