Germany's benchmark DAX index climbs

The benchmark DAX index at the Frankfurt Stock Exchange on Friday climbed by 1.71 percent and closed at 12,374.73 points.

It came to investors that the weak euro helped boost the export of Germany, which pushed the blue-chip index higher on Friday, according to local analysts. The index added 208.29 points.

Fresenius SE & Co. KGaA, a health care company, rose by 3.42 percent. Bayer AG advanced by 3.14 percent. Fresenius Medical Care AG & Co. added 3.07 percent. Deutsche Boerse AG climbed by 2.94 percent and Henkel AG & Co. KGaA Vz, a home care company, went up by 2.67 percent. On the other hand, HeidelbergCement AG lost 0.33 percent and Commerzbank AG went down by 0.23 percent.

The turnover stood at 4 billion euros (around 4.29 billion U.S. dollars). Daimler AG continued to be the most traded share of the day with a turnover of 336.95 million euros (around 361.72 million U.S. dollars). Enditem
