China, Japan should enhance tourism exchanges: official

China and Japan should boost bilateral tourism cooperation and exchanges as tourism plays an important role in enhancing understandings between the two countries, head of the China's National Tourism Administration said here Friday.

Li Jinzao, who is here for the tourism ministers' meeting among China, Japan and South Korea, said at a seminar involving tourism enterprises from China and Japan that the two sides should also promote bilateral tourism services and create better environment for tourism and consumption.

Li called for a more pragmatic tourism cooperation between the two sides based on the goal of more convenient, more comfortable and safer tourism and the elimination of disadvantages in the two- way exchanges.

Participants in the seminar also exchanged views on improving bilateral tourism cooperation. Endi
