Slovenia, Kosovo to promote economic cooperation

Slovenia and Kosovo signed here an agreement on Friday to beef up business cooperation on the basis of "excellent relations".

Slovenian investors should seize the opportunities offered by Kosovo, visiting Kosovo Deputy Prime Minister Hashim Thaci told his Slovenian counterpart Karl Erjavec.

Slovenia is the second biggest foreign investor in Kosovo with bilateral trade volumes amounting to 84.5 million euros (89.7 million U.S. dollars) in 2014.

Apart from economic cooperation, Erjavec and Thaci also exchanged views on the latest development in the region, and Kosovo's efforts to join the European Union.

Currently, Slovenia has 306 peacekeeping soldiers deployed in Kosovo, which is the biggest Slovenian mission abroad. Endit
