French stock market index up 1.40 pct on Thursday

The French stock market benchmark index CAC 40 closed with an advance of 1.40 percent at 5,208.95 points on Thursday, up 72.09 points.

Boosted by the good economic indicators published Thursday in Europe, the CAC 40 closed higher with only ArcelorMittal experiencing a decrease of 0.36 percent, reaching a new high record this year.

Thursday's top three gainers were Lafarge, up 5.72 percent, Veolia Environnement, up 2.82 percent, and Peugeot, up 2.70 percent.

In the previous trading day, the CAC 40 closed with a decrease of 0.28 percent at 5,136.86 points, down 14.33 points. Endit
