Three people were killed and another two were injured when the defendant opened fire during a hearing in Milan's courthouse on Thursday, local reports said.

A bankruptcy judge, Fernando Ciampi, and a young lawyer, Lorenzo Alberto Claris Appiani, were among the victims, according to court sources quoted by ANSA news agency. (Italy-Shootout)

ARISH -- At least two policemen were killed and three recruits injured late Wednesday night as their armored vehicle was hit by a blast in Arish city in Egypt's North Sinai province, a security source told Xinhua.

"The blast took place at Al-Masaeed area south of Arish city, which was carried out by extremist militants," the source added, believing the Sinai-based Al-Qaida-inspired Ansar Bayt al-Maqdis (ABM) group is behind the attack. (Egypt-Blast)

MEXICO CITY -- The death toll from a fuel truck explosion in Mexico's southeast state of Tabasco in late March climbed to 20 Wednesday, officials said.

Victims numbered 19 and 20 both died Wednesday, the Tabasco State Prosecutor's Office (FGE) and the Health Secretariat reported separately. (Mexico-Truck Explosion)

DHAKA -- At least 24 people were killed and more than 22 others injured when a passenger bus veered off the road and fell into a ditch in Bangladesh's central Faridpur district, some 101 km away of capital Dhaka, early Thursday.

"The passenger bus fell into a road side ditch, leaving 15 passengers dead on the spot and some 22 to 24 were injured," Ratan, a Faridpur police official, told Xinhua. (India-Accident)

TEHRAN -- Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei stressed on Thursday that the world powers should remove all the sanctions against the country on the same day as the potential nuclear deal is signed.

To postpone the removal of sanctions to six months or one year is never acceptable, Khamenei said, adding that the talks with the powers over the country's nuclear issue was primarily aimed at the lift of all sanctions at once upon the seal of the agreement. (Iran-Sanctions) Endi
