Uganda to face Botswana in 2017 AFCON qualifiers

Xinhua, April 9, 2015 Adjust font size:

The Uganda Cranes will open their 2017 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifying campaign with a home game against Botswana in June this year.

In the draws made by members of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) in Cairo, Egypt on Wednesday, Uganda was drawn in Group D along side Botswana, Comoros and Burkina Faso.

Uganda's Head Coach 'Micho' Sredojevic told Xinhua that he will not call this an easy draw but added that they will have to plan for every game accordingly.

"There is no team that should be undermined because all teams will want to qualify," said the Serbian coach. Uganda last qualified for the AFCON event in 1978. Endite
