Spanish stock market rises 0.83 pct, closes at 11,730 points

Spain's benchmark stock market index Ibex-35 rose 0.83 percent on Tuesday to close at 11,730.5 points, up from the 11,634 points of last Thursday just before the stock market index closed due to Spain's Easter holidays.

On Tuesday, ArcelorMittal shares led rises climbing 3.89 percent, followed by Repsol, Tecnicas Reunidas, Ferrovial and Gamesa that rose 2.96 percent, 2.85 percent, 2.84 percent and 2.56 percent respectively.

On the other hand, Abengoa shares led falls losing 3.22 percent, followed by Bankinter, Bankia, Telefonica and Indra that lost 1.17 percent, 1.13 percent, 0.86 percent and 0.86 percent respectively.

Meanwhile, Spain's risk premium fell to 99.5 points from the 102.5 points of early trading and Spain's 10-year bond interest rate stood at 1.18 percent on Tuesday closing time.

The day was marked by the successful auction held by the Spanish treasury as it placed six-month treasury bills at negative interest rates for the first time in history. Endit
