Two Suspects detained over Fenerbahce bus gunshot

Xinhua, April 7, 2015 Adjust font size:

Two suspects were detained early Tuesday over the gunshot attack on Fenerbahce's team bus, local media reported.

Trabzon Gov. Abdil Celil Oz said the suspects, N.S. and E.A., were apprehended in the Suprmene district of Trabzon. One of them tailed after the team bus on its way to Trabzon from Rize and the other one opened fire with an automatic rifle.

The suspect who trailed the bus allegedly filmed the attack with his phone camera and the other suspect opened fire on the team bus at April 4 night in Trabzon's Arakl district, leaving serious facial injuries to the driver Ufuk Kiran.

Fenerbahce was making its way toward Trabzon's airport following a 5-1 Spor Toto Super League victory at nearby Caykur Rizespor.

The head of Turkish Football Federation announced late Monday that all the clubs agreed to suspend first-tier Spor Toto Super League games, along with the Ziraat Turkey Cup match-ups, for one week on April 6 following the gunshot attack. Endi
