About 10 militants have been killed in Afghan army clearance operations in two provinces, the Defense Ministry said on Tuesday.

"The Afghan National Army (ANA) carried out cleanup operations in Ghazni and Paktia provinces, killing 10 militants, and injuring two others within the last 24 hours," the ministry said in a statement.

Two ANA soldiers also died as a result of direct enemy's firing, the ministry confirmed, adding that the army also defused 15 landmines and roadside bombs.

The Taliban group has yet to make comment. Endi
