Australian retail spending 0.7 pct stronger in Feb.: official data

Australia's retail recovery was stronger in February, with sales rising a seasonally adjusted 0.7 percent in February, according to new official data released on Tuesday.
The Australian Bureau of Statistics said local people spent more than 24.06 billion Australian dollars (18.27 billion U.S. dollars) in February.
The ABS data was ahead of predictions from economists surveyed by Bloomberg who said retail sales would increase 0.4 percent.
Retail spending continues to get stronger in Australia with a 0. 1 percent rise in November, a 0.2 percent jump in December and 0.5 percent in January. Endi
