Nikkei rises to 2-week high in morning

Tokyo stocks rose 1.15 percent to a two-week high on Tuesday morning, tracking overnight gains on Wall Street.

The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average was up 222.39 points, from Monday to 19,620.37. It briefly climbed to 19,631.61, the highest intraday level since March 25.

The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange rose 18.62 points, or 1.19 percent, at 1,579. 33.

Major gainers included mining, energy and insurance issues. Endi
