India's Rahul Gandhi to return to public life

India's opposition Congress party vice president Rahul Gandhi, who has been on a "leave of absence" for two months, will return to the public later this month, said a Congress official Monday.

Rahul Gandhi will address a farmers' rally in the capital on April 19, said Congress general secretary Digvijay Singh.

The 44-year-old Congress vice president, who is heir apparent to his mother Sonia Gandhi, the current Congress president, has been on a "leave of absence" before the budget session of parliament began on February 23. Endi
