Roundup: 3 blasts wound 4 Afghans within day

Four Afghans, including two senior police officers and a prosecutor, have been injured in three bomb blasts in the northern and southern region of the conflict-hit Afghanistan on Sunday, officials confirmed.
In the latest bomb blast which occurred in Rustaq district of the northern Takhar province, a district police chief and his deputy sustained injuries, police confirmed.
"Hundreds of people of Rustaq district were celebrating Nawroz or New Year on a ground in Rustaq district when a mine planted by militants exploded injuring the district police chief and his deputy," police spokesman in the province Abdul Khalil Asir told reporters.
He didn't give more details.
Nawroz or Afghan New Year begun on March 21 and since then the people of Afghanistan by organizing variety of activities, including arranging valley ball and football matches celebrate the day for several more days.
In another violent incident which took place in Takhar's neighboring Kunduz province, two people, including a prosecutor, were injured.
"A bomb blast organized by militants struck the car of a prosecutor in Kunduz city at around 09:00 a.m. local time today badly injured two persons including a prosecutor Abdul Qadir," police spokesman in the province, Sayed Sarwar Hussiani told Xinhua.
Taliban militants fighting the government have yet to claim responsibility.
In similar incident a motorbike bomb hit the southern Kandahar city on Sunday causing no life, spokesman for provincial government Samim Khapalwak said.
"The terrorists placed explosive objects in the cavities of a motorbike and parked it in second Aino Mina locality to target people but fortunately the blast caused no loss of life," Khapalwak told Xinhua.
He also added that the blast occurred at 10:30 a.m. local time and investigation has been initiated into the case. Taliban militants fighting the government often increase activities in spring and summer commonly known as fighting season in Afghanistan. Endi
