At least 14 people were killed on Sunday in airstrikes against Islamic State (IS) militants and sporadic violent attacks across Iraq, security sources said.
In Salahudin province, Iraqi aircraft carried out airstrikes on the IS positions in the desert area in west of the city of Samarra, leaving six IS militants killed along with destroying three of their vehicles, a provincial security source told Xinhua on condition of anonymity. (Iraq-Attacks)

ISLAMABAD -- An influential opposition party in Pakistan on Sunday announced it is ending a seven-month of boycott of the parliament and will attend a special session convened to discuss the crisis in the Middle East.

NAIROBI -- Kenyan authorities on Sunday revealed the identity of one of the terrorists who attacked Garisa University college and killed 148 people on Thursday.
The spokesman in the Ministry of Interior Mwenda Njoka named Abdirahim Abdullahi, the son of a Mandera chief, as one of the four terrorist. He was also a law graduate from the University of Nairobi. (Kenya-Security)

CAIRO -- A blast went off on a bridge in central Cairo Sunday, killing at least three people, including a policeman, state-run Nile News channel reported.
A police officer was quoted as saying that the explosion happened on 15 May Bridge near upscale Zamalek neighborhood in the morning, while many students and workers were going on the bridge to downtown areas. (Egypt-Explosion)

TRIPOLI -- Six people were killed and dozens others injured in a suicide bomb on Sunday in Libya's northwestern city of Misrata, security sources said.
